X/Y Adjustment after paste nozzle mounted

Been using my V-One for a fair bit of pasting. After I have aligned things to the best of my ability, I find after I start dropping paste on a few pads, I might need to micro adjust the x/y positioning slightly and I would rather not have to un-mount the paste, remount the probe, do the alignment hokey-pokey and then remount the paste - yadda - yadda

Can this be added as “in paste step” adjustment?

Hey @a2retro,

Thanks for the suggestion. Realizing that the alignment is a bit off when in the dispensing step can be frustrating, and this sounds like a reasonable way to address this situation.

I’ll poke @troy so he’s aware. Will say that there could be some risk in this approach, since re-probing is always the safest way to proceed after a re-alignment.

I think if we keep the absolute adjustment to within say 1mm (or maybe even .5) either direction that should suffice anything more and you go back to the proper alignment//probing step.

This woudl be sure duper handy for me right now. My boards have a 80pin .5mm pitch chip and
dialing this in can take time.

Also how does one reuse an alignment on a paste when there is no way I know to make sure the next board is exactly where the previous one was?

Incidentally this same request made my Top 10 Voltera Wishlist (posted a week ago before I saw this thread). @troy I’d really love to hear if it’s something the company is working on; it would help a lot! Last time I had to do a fine pitch part I wound up dispensing out of the cartridge by hand under a microscope to get more accurate results. The Voltera would have worked great if only I could have just moved things over a couple tenths of a mm.

Same here. Its near impossible to align the board up with the probe on fine pins to paste. I ended up with a small metal square which I add and remove PVC tape from to nudge the board to the left or right. Just takes way too long to keep going though the calibration steps.

I also think it should allow to save profiles for various PCBs. As reprobing and calibrating just drives me nuts when trying to do small batch run of boards over several days.
