Pick and Place Semi Auto Assist

A simple pick and place head where I will feed each component to the head and the head will move them into place and then by minor tweaking from the software, fine tune it into place.

I am not looking for a super automatic solution, just one with better hands than what I have

I think if you replaced the large stepper motor with a small servo, or even one of the really small steppers used in camera focusing systems, it could easily mount on the head of the Voltera. Vacuum pump is the real key I think.

Finally, combining this with a camera, and just manual positioning could even be very useful for most cases, as true automated pick and place will require at least a bottom up imaging system to adjust for positioning of the component on the tip.

i had a very bad experience trying to solder the “hello world” project, my hands shake and I couldnt place the parts on the pads properly. had to re-do the solder paste step several times.
I know I can buy/build a manual pick&place table, but seems the machine is already suited for this.
I would like to place the parts manually using the machine head. I will be using a standard syringe hooked up to a small vacuum pump. in the future I can print some addon for rotating the part using the dispensing mechanism.
Is there an option to move the machine manually in X,Y and Z?
I would like to avoid using Gcode console… but for now any hack you may suggest is welcome!
