Hey all, I’m trying to hand solder to a pad and the pads/leads keep melting. I’m using the solder provided and I’m all the way down to 320F (started at 350F) and it still melts. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Lon
I soldered at 300F and was very quick, did not retouch. I noticed this happens more with expired ink.
I Initially had the same problem here.
My ‘temperature controlled’ solder iron was WAY OFF. I turned it down to 100 C and it still vaporized the conductive ink.
Bought a differernt brand and now it works great
I think my temps are pretty accurate…and I turn it down to 300F and then the provided solder doesn’t melt.
Hello, I think you are soldering quickly to minimize heat exposure. Use a clean, properly tinned soldering iron and apply the solder to the joint rather than the iron. May applying flux can improve heat transfer and help create a better joint more quickly, reducing the risk of melting the pads and leads.
