So I don't trust software that much. Kicad and Eagle are adequate, but the ultimate test of whether a circuit is ready for printing or not is to see exactly what the V1 is going to print - and that's done through the Load/render stage in the V1 software.
I'd bring my V1 everywhere if I could - work, the gym, Sunday picnics, so on. It's currently sitting here beside me on the couch! When PCB design ideas strike, they gotta come out
The V1 render stage has become a part of my PCB design process: lay trace, drop vias and pads, run DRC, export layers & drill map, render in V1. In particular, I want to make sure that the holes are going to be accounted for properly by both Kicad and V1.
This might be a solved problem now that we're on v0.6.5, and it might just be me being overly paranoid, but I'm curious - how difficult would it be to allow the software to render layers and drill maps before requiring a physically connected printer?
