DRL from PADS compatibility

HI, I have a issue regarding drilling.

I have gerber(.pho) and drill file(.drl) from PADS. I can change .pho to .gtl and .gbl and it works fine.

However, .drl file converted to .txt does not align with the gerber file.

Is there a way to solve this issue within the voltera software? or Do I have to set certain properties up in PADS?

Welcome to the forums - and sorry for the slow reply!

Issues loading Gerber and Drill files typically occur because of a formatting mismatch between them. I’m not familiar with PADS, but during export can you please ensure both the drill and gerber files are:

• Formatted as “3:4” - Meaning 3 digits for integers and 4 digits for decimals - i.e coordinates are expressed as: 123.4567
• Formatted with leading zeroes suppressed (if available)
• Exported with the same units (Imperial vs Metric)

If the txt file is not aligning with the gerber file, it sounds like there is a scaling issue, does it look like the drill holes are in a different coordinate system?
