Ability to rotate circuit before printing

I helped a student print a circuit that was almost 4" tall by 1" wide. It was difficult to work with because we were forced to have the long axis of the circuit perpendicular to the clamps. The clamping took up precious real estate in this case and things were awkward.

If I could have rotated the circuit's orientation, then there would have been tonnes of room for clamping and no sweat whatsoever.

It would be nice to have that option available in the software. In the meantime I haven't checked but maybe you can rotate the circuit in a Gerber viewer?

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for the feedback, circuit rotation shouldn't be too hard to implement as we've already done all the math behind since we needed it for aligned printing.

To my knowledge Gerbv doesn't allow rotation, but others Gerber viewers might.

@780Farva: What CAD software do you use ? I know rotating in Eagle is super easy.

Personallot ive been learning KiCad, but I do a lot of work with students. They all have their own favourite editor it seems. DipTrace seems to be popular these days.

So it would really be useful to be able to rotate the gerber since I work with people who have done their designs in various CAD programs.
