Software Version: 0.16.2 - Known Issue with Hello World

Hi everybody!

We have identified a small issue with the current software version (0.16.2). It appears the Hello Word circuit cannot be loaded properly under certain circumstances when clicking the Hello World hyperlink in the load circuit step, but the Gerber files can be loaded directly.

The problem seems to be isolated to the Hello World circuit, however if you are unable to load a custom circuit please submit a support package in the app (by clicking the envelope in the top right icon) and we will take a look.

We appreciate your patience while we investigate and fix it.

it is not work. my version is 0.16.2, and I run helloworld.gtl.

Update - We have found that the app works on most machines but consistently fails on others. We were also able to reproduce the problem on one of the laptops in our office (which will simplify further investigating). So far we have reports of circuit load problem on win7 and win10.

I’ll let you know when i have more info.

I encountered the similar problem on loading my gerber (Win7). Also the machine fails to initialize the zero positiion…?

After the voltera software update is updated, all Gerber files fail to load. What’s going on?

We have decided to pull the 0.16.2 release until we can resolve the issue.

Windows users, please download and install 0.16.0. Fix you have issues with these build please let us know.

Mac users can stay on 0.16.2 or 0.16.1, which should be equivalent and neither should be impacted by this issue.

We will let you know when we have a fix.

PS. the issue amounts to an error attempting to spawn an external process we use to generate toolpaths from the loaded gerbers. This mechanism has been part of the application for years. Our theory is that a change to our build VM had some unexpected side-effects. We are still investigating.

FYI: 0.16.3 was released today and resolves this issue.

I updated to 16.4 tonight but I cannot seem to see the holes i need for alignment.
