Printing other materials like pasts using the voltera

Hello there,
im working in sensing and materials science and we basically want to print pastes of porous materials (zeolites and metal-organic frameworks) onto sensor substrates (micro heaters and MOSFETs).
I stumpled upon your product and would find it very interesting for our purpose.
The pastes contain the particles (5-50µm mean particle size), organic solvents (like ethyleneglycol, ethanol or similar that may not be compatible with some plastics) and additives like clay or something else. We only want to print one layer on the substrates. After that drying at room temperature or 100°C is our regular post processing routine.
Is there any experience with other materials?
If not, you you guys know which similar product or project from the 3d printing edge?

There is no reason it shouldn’t work, you may have to tweak settings, or use a different tip.
Ultimately the only way to know is to order the empty cartridges and tips and see if your materials work. If they do, then they should work with the machine.

As @Pyrophreek mentioned, the application you’ve described sounds like it should work well with the V-One. The printing quality will really come down to how your specific material behaves during dispensing - if you need any guidance in adjusting print settings you can always shoot us an email or post in the forums. Do you have any requirements for line width or layer thickness?

To use your material with the V-One, you’ll need to load it into a 5cc EFD syringe (like the ones in our empty cartridge pack) up to about 2 mL full. Then, just put on the appropriate nozzle, insert it into one of the dispenser units, and you’re ready to print.

A good rule of thumb is to use a nozzle that has an internal diameter at least 6x the mean particle size. We stock 100um, 150um, and 225um nozzles, which should be suitable for particles up to 37.5um - if you need to work with 50um particles, we may be able to supply a larger nozzle size.
