Hi everybody,
We’re thrilled to launch our new and improved conductive ink, Conductor 2. This ink has replaced the previous conductive ink on the Voltera store and is now live!
To accompany the launch, we now stock half cartridges of the Conductor 2. These cartridges are filled with half the ink volume and are meant for users that use the V-One very infrequently. Also available on our store.
Here’s what you can expect from this new formulation:
Higher Conductivity
Conductor 2 is 10 times more conductive than our old formulation! Just make sure you cure the ink immediately after printing.
Mechanical Robustness
A 2x improvement in adhesion strength means more robust solder joints and fewer mechanical failures in your double-sided boards.
Low Temperature Cure
While we’ve optimized for a curing temperature of 210 °C (410 °F), you can cure this ink at temperatures as low as 180°C (356°F), which opens up more options for substrate choice!
Solderability
Continue to use the Tin-Bismuth-Silver (SnBiAg0.4) solder wire at 180°C or reflow using our solder paste and the pre-set reflow profiles in the app. If you would like to read some more about hand soldering to our ink, refer to this article.
We’re excited for you to try our new ink! We always appreciate your feedback. Contact us through the in-app chat with your thoughts.
