3d printable tool holder for probe + drill

After receiving my Voltera drill and losing track of the rivet tools and chuck key amongst the clutter on my desk a few times, I decided to build this tool holder. It holds the Voltera probe, drill, drill chuck key and rivet tools. Printed on a Form2 SLA printer.

Very nice! The surface finish appears very good, how long did it take to print, and at what cost?

This sent me off to look at the Formlabs site and read up about their latest products.
They promised to send me a free sample of an engineering quality print, then sent me an email saying that the don’t ship to my country (Australia), disappointing and lost them a possible sale!

This print used about $9 worth of Grey Pro resin (including the supports and base not shown). It took about 8 hours, but I also printed using one of their “standard” resins and that took about 6 hours (surface finish is the same, difference between resins is the flexural modulus).

Unfortunate that they can’t ship a sample to you in Australia. They have a reseller there (Thinglab) who might send one. I’ve had mine Form2 for 2 years and it’s been great.

Great idea. I printed this as my very first 3d printed object. I had two PLA rolls, one black, and one white. the support scaffolding (black) was too strong compared to the leftmost holder and when I removed the breakaway support, the top leftmost platform snapped off too easily. I suggest extending the support all the way back if you are printing with something other than what Steven used. Thank you, this is a great accessory.

Hey, that’s great. I was inspired so much by your design that I made my own. It’s very similar to your first except that I added support for carbon steel rods to hold the tools up rather than shelves.
