Documentation on Print Settings

Could we have some detailed documentation on what the "Print Settings" values actually do?
Along with a reference document, this information could be displayed in a more concise form as hover-text over the parameters, or perhaps better over the descriptive text, as is done for example in the Slic3r (3D printer software) configuration dialogs.

In addition, a reference to the specific G-codes would be useful. I saw a forum reference to 'Use M507 to see backlash values", but I don't know where this is documented.

Apologies if the information is there and I couldn't find it, but I did search on specifics like "Soft start ratio" without getting any hits.

Hey @cborn,

Compiling complete documentation on the Print Settings values would be valuable. Until we can dedicate the time to put something like this together, I'd suggest giving us a call so we can talk through your specific application - the settings all work in tandem to produce good quality printing, which makes it quite difficult to give a concise explanation of what each one does in a vacuum. I'll add it to our to-do's for when we are updating support content!

My specific application was in response to your suggestion that I increase Kick

I wanted to look up exactly what that was, and get an idea of how much of a change in output would result in a given change in the value. And also look at what I could expect from changing other parameters.
A pictorial of parameter variation effects, say "this is what too high looks like" showing the paste blobbing around the tip for example, would be useful. There are some good ones around for sorting out 3D printer problems.
